Selected dengue vaccination for eligible patients in a dengue-endemic setting

DripToGo provides dengue vaccine service by appointment for eligible patients seeking added protection against dengue.

What Is Dengue?

Dengue is a viral infection spread by Aedes mosquitoes, especially in tropical and subtropical areas. Indonesia is one of the regions where dengue is endemic. The mosquitoes that spread dengue are usually small, dark-colored, and have white markings on the legs and body. They often bite during the daytime, especially in the early morning and late afternoon.

Symptoms usually appear after an incubation period of about 3–10 days and may include high fever, headache, body aches, nausea, rash, and in some cases bleeding symptoms such as nosebleeds or bleeding gums. Some patients may develop more severe dengue and require hospital care.

About the Vaccine

The dengue vaccine used in this service is a tetravalent vaccine designed to help protect against all four dengue virus types: DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4.

Vaccination does not guarantee full protection, but it is intended to help reduce the risk of dengue and may also help lower the chance of more serious illness. This vaccine is intended for prevention and is not used to treat active dengue infection.

Vaccination is generally best considered when the patient is well, allowing proper assessment of suitability. The standard schedule consists of two doses given three months apart.

If you are currently unwell, have a fever, or are recovering from a recent illness, it is advisable to discuss timing with our team before arranging vaccination.

Who May Consider This Vaccine

Dengue vaccination may be considered for individuals who:

  • are living in or traveling to dengue-endemic areas
  • wish to reduce the risk of dengue infection
  • are medically suitable based on individual assessment

If you have had dengue before, vaccination may still be considered. Because there are multiple dengue types, prior infection does not provide complete protection against future infections. Suitability should be assessed individually.

Possible Side Effects

Most side effects are mild and temporary, such as pain or redness at the injection site, headache, tiredness, muscle aches or mild fever.

Important Information
  • Dengue vaccine is intended for prevention and does not replace medical evaluation for suspected dengue.
  • If you experience high fever, weakness, repeated vomiting, bleeding symptoms, abdominal pain, or signs of worsening illness, medical assessment should be sought promptly.
